Computer tune-up & slow computer repair in Orlando & Central Florida

A computer tune-up finds out why your PC or laptop has slowed down, then fixes the cause instead of just deleting temp files. We check startup programs, drive health, memory, heat and Windows itself, clear out what’s holding it back, and tell you plainly if a part is the real problem.

How we handle it

The same four steps every time, so you always know what’s next.

  1. 1

    Find the bottleneck

We watch Task Manager and Resource Monitor while the machine works, read the drive’s SMART health data and check temperatures. That shows whether software, the drive, memory or heat is slowing you down.

  2. 2

    Clear the clutter

We trim startup programs and background apps, remove toolbars and expired trials you never wanted, and clear out temp files and leftover update files.

  3. 3

    Repair Windows itself

We run the repair tools built into Windows (SFC and DISM) to fix damaged system files, then install pending updates and current drivers. We also make sure the power plan isn’t holding the processor back.

  4. 4

    Test and explain

We time the startup before and after, check temperatures under load and walk you through what changed. If more RAM or an SSD would make the biggest difference, we’ll say so.

  5. Ready when you are.

Why computers slow down

Computers rarely slow down for one dramatic reason. It’s usually a pile-up of small ones:

  • Startup creep. Every cloud sync, updater and game launcher adds itself to startup, and each one takes memory from the programs you actually use.
  • Too little RAM. Windows 11 and a busy browser can fill 8 GB on their own, so Windows starts using the much slower drive as overflow memory.
  • Heat. Dust in the heatsink makes the processor throttle itself to stay cool, often right when you need it.
  • An aging drive. A hard drive with bad sectors retries the same reads over and over, which feels like random freezing.
  • Antivirus doubling up. Two real-time antivirus programs scanning the same files can bring a fast machine to a crawl.

When a tune-up isn’t enough

Cleanup can only do so much. If Windows still runs from a spinning hard drive, no amount of tuning will make it feel quick. An SSD will, and it’s often the best single fix for an older machine. With 4 GB of RAM, Windows 11 will struggle with everyday browsing no matter what we remove.

Some machines are simply at the end of the road: an old dual-core processor, a motherboard that can’t take more memory, or a repair bill that would outrun what the computer is worth. We’ll tell you when that’s the case. We don’t sell computers or parts, so there’s no sales pitch behind the advice, just an honest read on whether this machine deserves more money.

Keeping it fast afterward

A tune-up lasts longer with a few habits:

  • Keep at least 15 to 20 percent of the drive free, so Windows has room for updates and temporary files.
  • Use Restart now and then, not just Shut Down. With Fast Startup on, which is the default on most PCs, only a restart gives Windows a truly fresh start.
  • Run one antivirus program, never two.
  • Skip the “PC optimizer” and “driver updater” pop-ups. Most slow the machine down and then nag you to pay.

Offices that want this handled on a schedule can fold it into monthly managed IT maintenance.

Questions about tune-up & speed repair

Still unsure? Call or text (407) 773-0904 and describe what’s happening.

Why is my computer running so slow?

Usually it’s several things at once: too many programs launching at startup, a drive that’s nearly full or wearing out, too little RAM for today’s browsers, or dust making the processor throttle itself. Malware is a less common cause than most people think, but we check for it too.

Can you do a computer tune-up at my home or office?

Yes. We do tune-ups on-site at homes and offices, by appointment, across the 31 Central Florida communities we serve. If the machine needs a longer repair, we can take it back to our shop.

Will a tune-up delete my files or programs?

No. We only remove what you approve, like expired trials and junk files, and your documents, photos and programs stay put. If Windows itself needs a reset, we back up your files and talk it through with you first.

Is an old computer worth tuning up?

Often, yes. A tune-up plus an SSD can make a five- or six-year-old machine feel quick again. If the processor is too old or the repair doesn’t make sense, we’ll tell you before any work starts.
