Laptop screen replacement fixes cracks, ink-blot spots, dead areas and failed backlights. Before we replace anything, we test whether the panel is really at fault. Then we match the exact screen your model needs, down to the connector, resolution, refresh rate, touch and finish, and check every pixel before hand-off.

How we handle it

The same four steps every time, so you always know what’s next.

  1. 1

    Test before replacing

We plug in an external monitor and check the startup and BIOS screens. That tells us whether the panel, the display cable or the graphics chip is at fault.

  2. 2

    Match the exact panel

We match your panel by its part number and your laptop’s model: size, 30-pin or 40-pin eDP connector, resolution, refresh rate, touch or non-touch, and matte or glossy finish.

  3. 3

    Swap with care

We release the bezel without snapping its clips, transfer the brackets or adhesive strips, and route the display cable exactly as it was so the hinge can’t pinch it.

  4. 4

    Check every pixel

Solid-color test screens reveal dead pixels and backlight bleed. We check brightness and touch, then open and close the lid to make sure nothing flickers.

  5. Ready when you are.

Why the exact panel matters

Two 15.6-inch screens can look identical and still not work in your laptop. Most panels from the last decade connect over eDP: a 30-pin connector on typical 1080p, 60 Hz screens, and a 40-pin connector on higher-resolution and high-refresh panels (120 to 165 Hz). The connector’s position, the mounting brackets and the panel’s thickness all have to line up too.

Then there’s what you see. Touch screens carry an extra digitizer layer and cable, so a non-touch laptop can’t gain touch. Matte cuts glare; glossy looks punchier. Color range varies too: a budget 45% NTSC panel looks washed out next to a 100% sRGB one. We confirm the exact part your model needs, starting from the part number printed on the back of your current panel.

Lines and flicker aren’t always the screen

A new panel only fixes a problem that lives in the panel, so we test first with an external monitor:

  • If the monitor shows the same lines or glitches, the fault is in the graphics chip or motherboard, and a new screen won’t help.
  • If the monitor looks perfect but the flicker changes as you move the lid, the display cable running through the hinge is the likely culprit.
  • If the picture is faint but visible under a flashlight, the backlight has failed, either inside the panel or in the circuit on the motherboard that powers it.

We’d rather tell you which it is than replace a screen that isn’t the problem.

When the whole lid has to go

On many touchscreen 2-in-1s and some thin premium laptops, the glass is fused to the panel, and the display is built as one complete assembly: panel, glass and cable, sometimes with the lid and hinges attached. That is a bigger repair than a standard panel swap.

On an older laptop, a full assembly can approach what the whole machine is worth. We’ll tell you that before any work starts, along with the alternatives, such as running it from an external monitor at your desk. Then you decide.

Questions about laptop screen replacement

Still unsure? Call or text (407) 773-0904 and describe what’s happening.

Can a cracked laptop screen be repaired?

Not the glass on its own. On most laptops the front surface is part of the LCD panel itself, so a crack means a new panel. It’s best done soon, because cracks spread every time the lid flexes.

Is it worth replacing a laptop screen?

Usually, if the rest of the laptop is in good shape. A standard panel is a straightforward swap; if yours needs a full lid assembly or the laptop is near the end of its life, we’ll tell you before you spend anything.

Why does my laptop screen have lines on it?

Lines can come from a damaged panel, a worn display cable or a failing graphics chip. An external monitor tells them apart: if the monitor looks clean, the problem is in the screen or its cable.

Can you upgrade my screen while you’re in there?

Sometimes. A panel with better color or a matte finish can often go in the same space. Higher resolution or refresh rate depends on the connector and the motherboard, so we check compatibility first.
